email issues (yahoo account)
after going through all of the information gathering today at lunch....Guild Wars did not send me a confirmation email. I set up an account...used my retail CD-KEY (the scratch and sniff veriety), and they wont even email me saying they got my stuff...My friend did the same thing and got a confirmation email right away (he still cant play but that is another story) so my question is this:
Will Guild Wars not accept a yahoo.com email address...I really only use that account to not have to deal with all of outlooks "issues" I guess my next course of action is an uninstall/reinstall....and try to re-register, any thoughts on GW not accepting my email address for registration? |

Hi,
Make sure its not been sent to your Bulk mail folder. I had issues like that when i had a PoP3 Yahoo account, where everything i subscribed to was sent into the bulk email folder as spam, lol. |

no luck...its been 12 hours now...and to make matters worse now I have tried to re-register and it tells me that my cd-key is already in use...this is before I get to any type of akknowledgement email or any of the selection screens that ask for role-play or pvp or a second cd-key...they just refuse to email me the stuff...so I am afraid that I have to go back to EB tomorrow and try and get them to exchange my game....

Unless I get some response from my support email I am going to have EB just exchange my copy for a new key...I'll let them deal with selling a bum key...

Heh, I had a frightening moment when I created my GW account yesterday. I created the new account using hotmail, and the email sent to activate my GW account was all garbled, LUCKILY, I was able to make out the activation link, and finalise the account, phew...
But anyhow, good luck with your situation guys ! |

Well after reviewing the times at which they answered my comment Id say they answer their questions in the middle of the night cause I was up all night yesterday tryin to get it to work but I heard from them around 3:00am. Also I havnt heard from them on my post at 2:00pm, which is why I think that
Also I do belive they can release your cd key and give a new one if neccesarry which is what I think they will do to me |

Well I think so but just to be sure (cause they got a lot of probs with email accounts) use your standard email account like aol or earthlink but NEVER EVER USE YAHOO.

When contacting technical support, allow at least 48 hours for your question to be reviewed. No need to check your email every second. It is the same for Bioware, BFG and all the companies I ever emailed.
Make sure your Yahoo account security isn't set to it's highest. EDIT: Gmail works fine. |

Ok it has been 2 days now and i am at my last limits, i am starting to wonder if it is the program that is messed up. I am wondering if it is posible to log on to a friends account from my house. If so i can check out if it is the program that is bugy. Also never use hotmail for acounts CAUSE THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS!

Guess what i have gotten my proper account and can now log on. All i did was send an e-mail to the ppl at guild wars my 25 digit cd-key, e-mail addy, and place of purchase and they e-mailed me back saying what i did wrong. I put 2 "l's" in hotmail. But ya good luck to u all who have had a problem with this. Stick in there. Thanks for the help guys.
